They overlap in purpose (both are compact GeoMeasure GNSS receivers with RTK capability) but land at different points on size and runtime. The PinPoint is smaller and lighter (143 g vs. 670 g) but has less than half the battery life (9+ hours vs. 20+ hours) and a lower-capacity 1,800 mAh battery versus the Nano 7’s 10,000 mAh. If you’re doing short mapping sessions and want the lightest possible unit on a pole or in a vest pocket, the PinPoint makes sense. If you’re out for full field days without a convenient recharge point, the Nano 7’s battery life is the more practical choice.
Yes, it’s an antenna, not a standalone data logger. It connects over Bluetooth to whatever’s running your field software, confirmed compatible with FieldGenius, Esri, and Uinta. Its built-in 4G (LTE FDD/TDD) is for pulling NTRIP corrections and cloud connectivity directly, not for eliminating the need for a paired controller.
Cold start (full power-up) is rated at 30 seconds or less, hot start (waking from a brief power interruption) at 15 seconds or less, and signal reacquisition after a brief obstruction is rated at under 1 second, with initialization reliability rated at 99% or higher. In practical terms, a quick pause under a tree or a momentary power blip shouldn’t cost you more than a few seconds before you’re tracking again.
Yes. Despite weighing only 143 g, the PinPoint has an IP67 rating and an operating range of -20°C to +60°C. The lightweight design is about portability, not a tradeoff on build quality, it’s rated for the same kind of temperature and ingress protection you’d expect from heavier field equipment.

I had a pleasant professional experience with Bench Mark team, from the first contact to shipping of the equipment.
I recommend it.

Great experience working with Benchmark on the GNSS PinPoint. Even though it’s a relatively small mapping-grade GNSS unit compared to their typical equipment, the level of service was excellent. David took the time to call, answer all my questions over a couple of weeks, and made sure I was choosing the right setup for our needs. Really appreciated the responsiveness and support throughout the process.
