FAQs
It depends entirely on which configuration and correction source you’re running. Out of the box in autonomous or SBAS mode, the Nano 7 delivers roughly 30 cm accuracy, fine for GIS asset mapping (utility poles, manholes, vegetation lines) but not for boundary or legal survey work. With RTK enabled and a real correction source (your own base, a network RTK service, or NTRIP), it delivers the survey-grade RTK accuracy specified for the RTK configuration. If your work requires defensible, survey-grade positions, make sure you’re buying the RTK configuration, not the base GIS setup.
You need a separate data collector or a phone/tablet running compatible software. The Nano 7 itself is just the GNSS receiver, palm-sized at 670 g with no built-in screen, and connects over Bluetooth to whatever device is running your field software. It’s confirmed compatible with FieldGenius, Esri ArcGIS, and Uinta GIS, so if you already have a data collector running one of those, there’s a good chance you can pair it directly instead of buying a new controller.
It can run as either. The Nano 7 Base and Rover configuration is sold specifically so you can run one unit as a stationary base and the other as a rover, using the internal radio for corrections. This is the same flexibility you get with larger survey receivers, just in a much smaller and lighter package, useful if you want a compact base/rover pair for GIS-grade or lighter RTK work without carrying full-size equipment.
Both are supported, and you’re not locked into one. It has an internal radio for a traditional base/rover setup, and it also supports NTRIP, pulling corrections from a network RTK service over a cellular connection through your data collector. Which one you use comes down to whether you’re working somewhere with cell coverage and NTRIP access, or somewhere remote where a local base and radio link makes more sense.
It’s rated for over 20 hours from its 10,000 mAh internal battery, comfortably covering a full field day without carrying a spare or returning to a charger. Given how light the unit already is (670 g), that battery capacity is a meaningful part of why it works well for all-day GIS mapping or mobile fieldwork away from a vehicle.
Yes, the compact size doesn’t come at the cost of ruggedness. It carries an IP67 rating, protected against temporary submersion, not just splashes or dust. Its size also makes it easy to mount on a pole, backpack, or simply hand-carry, which in practice reduces the risk of drops compared to bulkier receivers that get set down and forgotten on a tailgate or fence post.

As a civil engineering firm, we utilize our GPS systems across a wide range of projects throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.
We recently worked with Bench Mark to purchase a new GNSS system, including a trade-in of our existing equipment, and the experience has been outstanding. We received an excellent financial deal, and the support provided to get us up and running exceeded our expectations.
A standout feature is the library of short, task-specific instructional videos—no more sitting through 45-minute videos just to find the one detail you need.

Great company to work with! I called right from the job site with questions about setting up our base and rover, and their team walked me through everything on the spot. Instead of getting stuck on hold or routed to a generic call center, I got fast, knowledgeable help right when I needed it. I highly recommend purchasing equipment from them—they provide incredible customer support and don’t just ghost you after making the sale
