Why Buy From Bench Mark?

GPS and GNSS Mapping equipment or precise GIS data collection devices are important tools in a variety of industries such as oil and gas, environmental, cable, pipeline, electric, and phone utility companies. GIS, or Geographic Information System, refers to the collection and analysis of spatial data, and is facilitated by GPS mapping tools, and dedicated mapping software. DGPS mapping equipment allows you to build an accurate map of your assets in a fraction of the time compared to traditional survey tools. Also GIS & GPS mapping equipment is typically less expensive and easier to use than traditional RTK land survey equipment. The fast and precise location of assets gives crews an advantage when it comes to the gathering, management and analysis of data. At Bench Mark, we sell the Juniper Systems Geode GPS receiver, designed for integration into your existing mapping infrastructure. We are proud to offer top-quality equipment and dedicated customer service to our customers.

FAQs

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a framework for gathering, managing, and analyzing spatial data. It integrates many types of data and uses spatial location to analyze patterns and trends. GIS reveals deeper insights into data, such as relationships, patterns, or situations—helping users to make smarter decisions.

GPS and GNSS are related terms but mean different things. GPS refers to a specific satellite system, while GNSS refers to the overall positioning satellite system which integrates several independant satellite constellations.

GPS is the American satellite constellation that is a part of the global GNSS systems. GPS stands for Global Positioning System and constitutes 31 GPS satellites which orbit the earth.

GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is the term used to describe all positioning constellation systems. This includes the Americans GPS, Russian Galileo, Chinese BeiDou, European Galileo, Indian IRNSS, Japanese IRNSS, and various SBAS systems.

GIS data collection hardware can be broken into three basic categories: digitizers, GPS units, and mobile devices. These units are often used together to produce a digital map of assets, conditions of assets and navigable maps of assets.

All of our GIS systems are compatible with several different software packages. This includes ArcGIS, FieldGenius and Uinta. As long as your software can accept an NMEA string from a GNSS receiver over bluetooth or serial, our GNSS receivers will work with your software.

Here at Bench-Mark we offer training, live-phone support and a comprehensive self-learning software academy. There is no need to worry about learning something on your own. We have the experience to help guide you on everything from basic setup to advanced applications.
